Charles Hoadley

Charles Archibald Brookes Hoadley ( born March 1, 1887 in Burwood, Melbourne, † February 27, 1947 in Footscray, Victoria ) was an Australian geologist and Antarctic explorer.

Life and work

The son of the jam factory Abel Hoadley was a member of the Australian Antarctic Expedition under Douglas Mawson 1911-1913.

Previously, he had acquired a degree in mining engineering at the University of Melbourne.

After the expedition, which he spent on the western base and when he made several trips sleigh, he earned a Master of Science degree yet also at the University of Melbourne. Subsequently, he was a lecturer at the School of Mines and Industry in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. From 1917 until his death in 1947 he was then rector of the Technical School in Footscray, Victoria.
