Charles Joshua Chaplin

Charles Joshua Chaplin (* June 8, 1825 in Les Andelys, France; † 30 January 1891 in Paris) was a French painter and engraver.

Chaplin was a student of Martin Drolling and painted landscapes in the beginning. Later he went on to Boudoirmalerei, which he exercised in the manner of the painter François Boucher.

As an engraver Chaplin found his subjects often in the works of Peter Paul Rubens ', and Jean- Antoine Watteau; but he erased completely even after their own ideas.

At the age of nearly 66 years, the painter Charles Joshua Chaplin died on 30 January 1891 in Paris. It is located at the Père Lachaise Cemetery buried.
