Charles Kynard

Charles Elliot Kynard ( born February 20, 1933, St. Louis, † July 8, 1979 in Los Angeles ) was an American church organist and Hammond organ player ( Soul Jazz ).

Work and life

Kynard, a nephew of jazz saxophonist Ben Kynard, was an excellent organist. Professionally, he is not bound toured virtually and in spite of his talent, so he remained largely unknown because on one hand it occurred exclusively in Los Angeles and took up relatively few albums. During the day he worked with mentally handicapped children, during the nights, he played in various clubs in Los Angeles, and on Sundays he went his employment as a church organist after.
