Charles Louis Fleischmann

Charles Louis Fleischmann ( born November 3, 1835 in Hunters Village, † December 10, 1897 ) was an Austrian entrepreneur.

Career

Charles Louis Fleischmann came on November 3, 1835 in Hunters Village, Austrian Silesia to the world. In his youth he attended schools in Vienna and Prague. Fleischmann 1866 left the Empire of Austria in the direction of the United States. There he founded with his brother Maximilian and another business partner Fleischmann 's Yeast. They produced and sold compressed yeast and spirits. In the following years the Fleischmann Yeast Company became the world's leading yeast producer and the second largest producer of vinegar.

Fleischmann was also responsible for numerous mechanical patents found in the Hefeproduktionsmaschinen use. He also was involved in the founding of the Market National Bank and from 1887 until his death in 1897 its president. He was buried in Spring Grove Cemetery. His son Julius Fleischmann was mayor of Cincinnati.
