Charles R. Bentley

Charles Bentley ( born 1931 in New York City ) is an American geophysicist and polar explorer. He is professor emeritus at the University of Wisconsin- Madison. The Mount Bentley and Bentleygraben in Antarctica are named after him. In 1957 he undertook with other researchers, including Mario Giovinetto, an expedition with tracked vehicles to the first measurement of the density of ice in West Antarctica.
