Charles West (actor)

Charles H. West ( born November 30, 1885 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, † October 10, 1943 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor.

Life

Since 1904, West worked as a versatile actor on the stage. He made his film debut in 1908 under the direction of David Wark Griffith at the Biograph Company. He was a regular cast member of the film society and was seen as the main and supporting actor in numerous Griffith films. Until 1916 he remained at Biograph, but came increasingly also in productions of Selig, Paramount, Universal and other studios. In 1937 he ended his film career.

Between 1908 and 1937 he appeared in more than 300 films.
