Charming Hostess

Charming Hostess is an American band, whose origins lie in the field of experimental rock music scene in Oakland.

The current lineup with three singers during 2002, from the Charming Hostess Big Band show. In this composition, gender conventions were caricatured in appearances - the female members often occurred with glued beards, while the male members wore skirts. The music is mainly based on traditional songs from Eastern Europe and North Africa, which were mixed with American folk, doo wop, rock and klezmer.
