Charred Walls of the Damned

Charred Walls of the Damned are an American heavy metal supergroup, consisting of musicians Richard Christy, Steve DiGiorgio, Tim "Ripper" Owens and Jason Suecof. Cristy formed the band after five years of absence in the metal scene, after he participated in the Howard Stern Show since July 2004.

History

As Iced Earth were on the Glorious Burden tour in 2004, the drummer Richard Christy decided to leave the band. He was one of ten finalists in the "Get John's Job " - a contest the Howard Stern show to replace the worn " Stuttering John " Melendez. He said that he would regret it " every day of his life" if he had not taken part in it. Christy finally won the contest with 30 % of votes.

Finally, he announced the return of his five-year abstinence from the music business with the establishment of Charred Walls of the Damned. The name was announced on 20 May 2009. He comes from a series of joke calls that he and Sal Governale made ​​at a Tradio show on a Christian radio station. The first single, "Ghost Town", was released on 1 December 2009.

The debut album, Charred Walls of the Damned, was released on CD and on iTunes on February 2, 2010. Blabbermouth.net reported by about 2200 units sold in the U.S. in the first week after publication. The album climbed into various charts: Billboard's " Heatseekers ", " Independent Albums " and " Hard Music Album " in the squares 6, 37 and 46 It also reached # 85 on the "Canadian Independent Chart". The Japanese version contains a cover version of the song " Nice Dreams " by the band Powermad from Minneapolis.
