Château de la Roque

The privately inhabited castle in La Roque stands high above the D 25, 3 km northeast of the town of Saint- Cyprien in the field of community Meyrals in the department of Dordogne of the French Périgord.

The building bears his name, as it appears to be part of the rock in the hilly terrain on which it was built. A picturesque jumble of towers with pointed roofs competes with the towering living quarters. From the 14th to the 17th century to the mounting this " eagle 's nest " built at the beginning of a younger branch of the house Beynac, then later by the family of Beaumont. The chapel of the castle is decorated with frescos from the 15th and 16th centuries.
