Chaumont FC

The FC Chaumont is a French football club based in Chaumont in the Haute- Marne. He is the successor of the often abbreviated as ECAC EAC Chaumont, who played several years in the second highest league in France.

History

The club was founded in 1957 under the name of the Entente Chaumont Athlétic Cheminots from the merger of the Entente Chaumontaise Cheminots Gazelec - an association of the two state-owned railway and power companies - and the Chaumont Athletic Club. The club quickly rose in the third-class Championnat de France amateur and held then for several years in the highest French amateur league. 1966, the club was admitted to the Division 2 and therefore participated in professional status. In the first year Table, the team remained despite receiving further clubs from amateur in the league. Subsequently, the club placed in the mid table area and made ​​national attention as a finalist in the eighth Coupe de France. In 1969, the club was voted out but from the second division. Due to an increase in the second division on three seasons of 16 teams in the re- visit lasted only one season in the amateur stock.
