Chauncey Hardy

Chauncey Hardy (born 15 May 1988 in Middletown, Connecticut; † 9, 2011 in Bucharest, Romania ) was an American professional basketball player.

Life

Career

Hardy began his basketball career at Xavier High School and moved in 2006 to the Sacred Heart University. He played for four years for the Pioneers and changed the end of 2010 the Romanian second division CSS Giurgiu, the rise in the Divizia A 2011. There, Hardy denied the first two season games for Giurgiu.

Death

On 8 October 2011, he visited after the victory against Dinamo Bucharest in Giurgiu a night club and was involved in a fight. Hardy suffered two heart attacks in quick succession as a result of this fight and was then taken to a hospital. There he once again fell into a coma and died shortly afterwards.
