Chelif River

The Cheliff (Arabic وادي الشلف, Wadi ash- Shalif ), with a length of 700 kilometers, the longest river in Algeria.

It originates in the Sahara part of the Atlas Mountains, flows along the Ouarsenis and flows into the Mediterranean Sea north of the city of Mostaganem. The water level is subject to strong fluctuations that are sometimes caused by irrigation in the lower river.
