Background

Originally the building was an armory for the Ninth Cavalry, in 1914 but moved onto 14th Street. It was then the film producer Adolph Zukor, which bought the building and used it for his production company, to films like An American Citizen and indeed to turn Man from Mexico. In the 1950s, the radio producer Himan Brown bought the studios and built two sound stages on.
