Cheryl Carasik

Cheryl A. Carasik ( born 1952 ) is an American production designer.

Life

Carasik began her film career in 1985 as a film production designer in the action film The Legend of Billie. In 1988, she worked as a decorator yet, for the first time with Tim Burton on Beetlejuice together. Burton hired her in the early 1990s for two of his films as a production designer, Edward Scissorhands and Batman Returns. In 1996 she received for the film drama Little Princess by director Alfonso Cuarón her first nomination for an Academy Award, in the following year, followed the second nomination for the film comedy The Birdcage - A paradise for birds shrill. In the same year she first worked with Barry Sonnenfeld, who hired her as a result of several of his films; including Men in Black and Lemony Snicket - Mysterious events for the Carasik one another Oscar nomination received. Mid-2000s, she appeared on the pirate movies Pirates of the Caribbean - Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End with and in 2007 received her fifth nomination for an Oscar. However, the price she could never accept.
