Chesham Bois is a village in the district of Chiltern Buckinghamshire, England, adjacent to Amersham and Chesham.

History

The original hamlet was named first by the family Bosco ( Italian for " forest "), which owned the largest estate of Chesham during the tenure of King John. Bois is the French translation of " forest ". Then, during the reign of Henry VII, the estate passed into the possession of the Cheynes of Chenies and later on with the rest of the estate Cheynes to the Lord of Bedford.
