Chestermere

Chestermere is a town in Alberta, Canada. It is located on the shores of Chestermere Lake, a reservoir that serves as a water reservoir for the environment.

History

After the application of the Chestermere Lake to irrigate more and more residents came to the city, not least because of its quiet location and proximity to Calgary ( 18 km). On 1 March 1993, finally followed by the registration as a Town of Chestermere. After some surrounding municipalities were amalgamated in Calgary, today announced the incorporation Chest Ermeres is itself questionable.

Profile

Chestermere is a popular leisure spot because of its many sports and outdoor activities as a holiday destination. There are, among other things, bike trails and a golf course.

Train

The city has three public schools, of which the primary school career is covered, further a Catholic school. The secondary education is handled in the nearby city of Calgary.

Demography

Had Situated at 1,030 meters above sea level city in 2006 a population of 9,564, which was distributed to 3,165 households. With an area of 8.91 km ² gives a population density of 1,073 inhabitants per square kilometer.
