Cheyne Capital Management
Cheyne Capital Management ( UK) LLP is an alternative hedge fund investment company with headquarters in London. It was founded in 1999 by Jonathan Lourie and Stuart Fiertz, both of whom had previously worked for Morgan Stanley. The Company's funds include corporate credit, real estate, event-driven, equity and equity-linked funds. Cheyne Capital Management ( UK) LLP is of the UK Financial Services Authority ( Financial Services Authority - FSA) and is also approved of this.
Cheyne launched its first fund out in 2000 and today manages net assets of different products with a total value of over $ 6.9 billion. Its clients include pension funds, foundations, family offices and funds of funds. The Cheyne group employs 140 people with offices in London, Switzerland and Bermuda.
Stuart Fiertz, one of the founders, is one of 14 members of the Hedge Fund Working Group ( HFWG ), who published a consultation paper on best practice standards for valuation, transparency and risk management in 2007. These standards should lead to greater transparency, better understanding and more confidence in the industry. Compliance with these directives is now observed by the Hedge Fund Standards Board, a selbstregulatorisch device to which also belongs Cheyne.
