Chicago Assyrian Dictionary

The Chicago Assyrian Dictionary ( CAD) or The Assyrian Dictionary of the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago is a project at the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago with the goal of a dictionary of the Akkadian language and its dialects, and focus on post Neo-Assyrian forms. It is designed based on the Oxford English Dictionary. The work began James Henry Breasted in 1921, who had contributed to the Egyptian language dictionary. Erica Reiner from 1973 to 1996 Main Editor, followed by Martha T. Roth. The last part was only 26 in 2011 ( Volume 20 U / W) published.
