Erica Reiner

Erica Reiner ( born August 6, 1924 in Budapest, † 31 December 2005 in Chicago) was a Hungarian- American Altorientalistin.

Erica Reiner studied linguistics at the University of Budapest. She then attended the École pratique des hautes études, where she studied Elamitisch, Sumerian and Akkadian in Paris. Your PhD in 1955 in Chicago, where from now on also her social life should be.

In 1952 she began as an assistant at the University of Chicago to work on the Assyrian Dictionary. The first volume of this 1921 -founded Chicago Assyrian Dictionary on which it participated, was published in 1956.
