Chilonis (daughter of Leotychidas)

Chilonis (Greek Χειλωνίς, * 290 BC), the daughter of the Spartan Leotychidas, was awarded the much older Prince Cleonymus married, who loved her very much. However, they despised her husband and had in Akrotatos, the great-nephew of Cleonymus, in love. This showed quite openly, so that all of Sparta over here and they spoke disparagingly called Chelidonis in accordance with the daughter of Pandareus.

This suicide attempt failed, however. Akrotatos finally left with 300 men of the city and could teach the besiegers a decisive defeat that deducted then. When he returned to the city, he was celebrated and from now on they accepted the connection between him and Chilonis.

262 BC Akrotatos fell in the war and shortly thereafter gave birth to their son Chilonis Areus.
