China Netcom, China Netcom Group Corporation officially (Hong Kong ) Limited, CNC (Chinese中国 网络 通信 集团公司) is a Chinese company based in Hong Kong. The head office is located in Beijing.
The company is officially registered as a limited company in the commercial register in Hong Kong and was listed until the merger with China Unicom in stock Hang Seng Index at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
The company offers telecommunications services of various kinds. In 2006, about 92 788 people were employed at China Netcom. CNC is a subsidiary of China Network Communications Group Corporation.
China Netcom was founded in August 1999.
China Netcom and China Unicom have merged in early 2009.
