Chinle (Navajo: Chínílį ) is a census -designated place in Apache County in the U.S. state of Arizona. He lies to the west below the maximum 2400 m high plateau Defiance at a height of 1678 m. The place is located in the Navajo Nation Reservation, and is adjacent to the Canyon De Chelly National Monument, a canyon landscape with special geological and historical significance. West of the city runs the U.S. Highway 191

Demography

At the 2000 census, 91.28 % of residents were among the aborigines, 6:39 % for whites, 1.83 for Latinos, 0.19% for blacks, 0:17 for Asians, 0.04% to the Pacific inhabitants, 1:34 % reported more than one race.

In the village there is the Chinle High School.

In Chinle Chinle is located with Comprehensive Health Care Facility ( CCHCF ) a major hospital and health center with 24-hour emergency department. It is part of the Navajo Area Indian Health Service.
