Chioma Igwe

Chioma Igwe ( born July 21, 1986 in San Mateo, California) is an American soccer player who stands in the summer of 2011 in the Bundesliga with SC Freiburg under contract. Previously, she played in 2008 in Germany at the 1 FC Saarbrücken in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Career

Igwe played in their youth for the California Golden Bears and the Santa Clara Broncos, their first professional station were Soccer Plus Connecticut. In summer 2008, she moved to Germany and joined the second division Saarbrücken. Even after half a year, she moved back to her home and played for one season for the Chicago Red Stars and the Boston Breakers, followed by further half series at Bay Area Breeze. For the season 2011/12 she signed a contract with the Bundesliga's newly SC Freiburg.

Private

Her father Tony Igwe took part in Nigeria for the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico and was 1969-1973 captain of the Nigerian national football team. Her brothers and Kelechi Amaechi also played at the Santa Clara Broncos.
