Chipoka

Chipoka is a small port city in the African country of Malawi, which lies on Lake Malawi. Here the Malawian railway and the ferry are linked across the lake. Chipoka making it one of the four major ports of the country and a major transportation hub in Malawi. The city was founded in 1935 connected to the railway network in Malawi. The city had about 16,000 inhabitants. It lies at an altitude of 471 meters above the sea level.

After the city of the living nearby Chipoka - mouth brooders ( Melanochromis chipokae ) is named.
