Chirchiq River

Course of Chirchiq ( Чирчик )

The Chirchiq (Russian Чирчик ( Chirchik ) ) is a right tributary of the Syr Darya in Uzbekistan Tashkent Province.

The Chirchiq forms the outflow of Chorvoq Reservoir, which is fed by the headwaters Chatkal and Pskem. In the upper reaches it flows over a distance of 30 km a ravine. The Chirchiq runs in a southwesterly direction, passing it the city Gazalkent. In the same city Chirchiq some of the water over the Karasu is diverted to eastbound river Angren. The Chirchiq clips the millions of Tashkent city on its eastern suburbs and, after 155 km on the Syr Darya. The catchment area of ​​14,900 km ² comprises Chirchiq.
