Chrást (Plzeň-City District)

Chrást ( German Chrast ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. You more than twelve kilometers north-east of the center of Plzeň and belongs to Okres Plzeň -město.

Geography

Chrást located at the western foot of the Brdská highlands between the rivers Berounka and Klabava that unite north of the village. The Distance to motorway Dálnice 5 is five kilometers to the south. History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1242 in a document Wenceslas I of Chrást for Adam, who had inherited the property from his father. The Lords of Chrást belonged in the 14th century the most important families in the Plzen region and acquired great wealth. Peter of Chrást, who had fought during the Hussite wars on the side of the rebels, had 1434 surrender his property and go to Prague. After that, different genders alternated as the owner. Him 1514, the city acquired Pilsen Chrást together with other villages. In the middle of the 17th century began in the previously purely agricultural village of the settlement of mining and mining companies. The railway through the Bohemian Western Railway made ​​Chrást to a railway junction.
