Chris Adrian

Chris Adrian ( born November 7, 1970 in Washington, DC) is an American pediatrician and author.

Life

Adrian studied English at the University of Florida, theology and medicine at Harvard until 2001 at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk ( Virginia). He attended an Iowa Writers' Workshop. In 2009 he received a Guggenheim Fellowship for Literature. He has published three novels and a collection of short stories. The New Yorker calls him one of the most important modern American authors. His 2012 into German translated novel, The Great Night is a modern adaptation of Midsummer Night's Dream, working with the means of magical realism.

Adrian is employed as a pediatrician at the University of California at San Francisco.
