Chris Jarrett

Chris Jarrett ( born 1956 in Allentown, Pennsylvania) is an American pianist and composer.

Life

He continued his studies at the prestigious Oberlin Conservatory of Music (Ohio ), which he continued from 1985 at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, where he taught from 1988 to 1989 then themselves. Here also began his career as a professional musician. Later he lived in Neuhäusel in Koblenz ( Rhineland -Palatinate). In 2006 he moved to Paris, but he soon returned back to Germany and now lives in Oberotterbach.

Chris Jarrett is mainly active as a solo pianist, where he moves between the poles of influences from classical music and jazz improvisation. He also leads the Chris Jarrett Trio and the quartet Four Free.

Chris Jarrett's older brother is the pianist Keith Jarrett.
