The União Democrata - Crista de Timor ( Christian Democratic Union of Timor ) UDC was a Christian conservative, East Timorese party with about 1500 members.

These were Vicente da Silva Guterres and Arlindo Marcal, former Moderator of the Protestant Church of East Timor. The UDC was not a member of the National Council, the PDC. Guterres expressed the Conselho Nacional de UDC in Resistência Timorense ( CNRT ), the umbrella organization of the Timorese resistance, the Guterres was a member since its founding in 1998. In the CNRT, he held the office of secretary. On August 5, 2000, some members split off again as the PDC, while the Alliance UDC / PDC persisted.

Basis of the ideology of the UDC were Christian Humanism and the social doctrine of the Catholic Church. The majority of the members were Catholics. As a political system they aspired to for an independent East Timor, a multi - party system with semi- presidential form of government after the French model, but with a strong limitation of presidential power. They also supported the market economy. The UDC had observer status at the International Christian Democratic Union.

After the election to the Constituent Assembly in 2001 Guterres retired as chairman and sole representative of the UDC / PDC in the National Parliament of East Timor. Since 2007, Guterres is part of the Congresso Nacional da Reconstrução Timorense ( CNRT ), while his party merged with the PDC under its banner.
