Christian Eminger

Christian Eminger ( born October 21, 1964) is an Austrian racing driver and former speed skater.

As a speed skater Christian Eminger represented Austria 1981-1998 at three Olympic Winter Games (Sarajevo 1984, Calgary 1988, Lillehammer 1994), 13 World Championships and 14 European Championships. When he reached a World Cup race victory ( 5000m, Innsbruck ), two second and four third places. He scored a world record in the 3,000 meters and won two two World Championship medals in the 5000m and 10,000 m. He also spent three years as coach of Switzerland (2002-2004) and one year coach in Austria. He scored 103 top- ten finishes at the World Cup, European Championships and World Cups.

As a cyclist, Christian Eminger 1990 third in the road race in the Austrian state championship. In 2000, he won the Leimentalrundfahrt in Switzerland. At the Tour du Cameroun Eminger could win a stage and finished second in the overall standings. This he finished in the final results of the UCI Africa Tour 2005 to seventh place. A year later, he was successful on a part of the Tour de la Martinique. In 2006 he won the Memorial Leo Wirth ( Germany ) and was UCI Masters World Champion. In 2007, he was in Germany successful in Opfinger Sonnenberg loop and won the borderlands criterion in Bad Säckingen. He also won the National amateur championship of Switzerland and defended his gained in the previous year Masters Cup title. Between 2002 and 2007, he won six times in a row, the national elite race at Schwarzhäusern ( Switzerland ). At 43, he signed a contract for 2008 as captain of the newly formed Swiss Continental team " STEG computer ". In 2011, he won again a stage of the Tour du Cameroun.
