Christian Friedrich Penzel

Christian Friedrich Penzel ( born November 25, 1737 Oelsnitz / Vogtl; . † March 14, 1801 in Merseburg ) was a German cantor and composer.

Life

Penzel studied under cantor Johann Georg Nacke Oelsnitz and in 1749 or 1751 at the St. Thomas School in Leipzig. He was possibly one of the last students of Bach. After graduation he studied theology at the University of Leipzig. He was a cantor in 1765 Merseburg.
