Christian Friedrich von Glück

Christian Friedrich von Glück ( born July 1, 1755 in Halle ( Saale), † January 20, 1831 in Erlangen, Germany ) was a German legal scholar.

Life and work

Christian Friedrich luck studied from 1770 to 1776 at the University of Halle, and on April 16, 1777 he received his doctorate. After seven years as a lecturer in Halle he decides in 1784 for the University of Erlangen, where it is the fifth Professor of Law. At that time he lived in the Friedrichstrasse. 35 In this house, near the Bohlenplatz, the municipal music school is now located. To remember him is on the facade of the building also an inscription, which the inscription " Here lived Pandektist Prof. Dr. Christian Friedrich von Luck (1784-1831) " bears.

In 1785 he married Wilhelmine Elisabeth Geiger. The marriage produced two sons, Christian Carl von Luck (1791-1867) and Christian Wilhelm luck (1810-1866), and a daughter. Christian Friedrich of happiness died on 20 January 1831 in Erlangen. His main work is the detailed explanation of the Pandects (Erlangen, 1790-1830, 34 vols ).

In Erlangen 1884 is a street after Christian Friedrich appointed by happiness: the happiness road.
