Christian Hochstätter

Christian Hochstätter (* October 19, 1963 in Augsburg) is a former German football player and current - functionary.

Career

Hochstätter came on post SV Augsburg and FC Augsburg in 1982 to Borussia Mönchengladbach. Until 1998, the midfielder was at this club under contract. He came to 339 appearances in the Football League, scoring 55 goals (many free kicks ). After 1992 with the Borussia in the final of the DFB - Pokal 1992 Hannover 96 failed, he stood in the DFB - Pokal in 1995 in the elf of Borussia that was with a 3-0 over Wolfsburg DFB Cup winner. In 1987, he completed two A- caps for the German national football team.

After his playing career Hochstätter was sports director at Borussia Moenchengladbach. He held this post from six years before he resigned in April 2005.

In January 2007 Hochstätter was sports director at Hannover 96 as a successor to manager Ilja Kaenzig whose contract was terminated in mid-November 2006. Hochstätter had a contract until 30 June 2009, which, however, was terminated in January 2009. Subsequently, he was a three- quarter worked as a Player's agent at the Agency Stars & Friends. According to a development in the areas of sport management and financial services, he then worked in a Düsseldorf-based agency for asset management, consulting, and for a Cologne advertising agency.

Since June 8, 2013 Hochstätter has worked as sporting director at VfL Bochum.

Hochstätter is a nephew of Helmut Haller.
