Christian Jacq

Christian Jacq (* April 28, 1947 near Paris ) is a French Egyptologist.

He studied and received his doctorate at the Sorbonne University in the subject of Egyptology. For his scientific work and numerous publications, he was honored by the Académie française. Christian Jacq wrote several historical novels (including about Ramses II ), who found international attention. In addition, other popular science books have been published on the Egyptology from him. The Sorbonne University awarded him a doctorate. He founded an institute that takes care of the collection and conservation of endangered monuments along the Nile and named this after his historic favorite character: Institute Ramsès.
