Christian Schweigaard Stang
Christian Schweigaard Stang ( born March 15, 1900 in Oslo, † July 2, 1977 ) was a Norwegian linguist and professor of Slavic Languages from 1938 until his death. He is known for his studies of the Lithuanian language and is very respected in Lithuania. His major work was A Comparative Grammar of the Baltic languages ( 1966). He was the son of Norwegian lawyer, deputies and Justice Minister Fredrik Stang and Caroline Schweigaard ( daughter of the Minister of State Christian Homann Schweigaard ).
