Christian Schweigaard Stang

Christian Schweigaard Stang ( born March 15, 1900 in Oslo, † July 2, 1977 ) was a Norwegian linguist and professor of Slavic Languages ​​from 1938 until his death. He is known for his studies of the Lithuanian language and is very respected in Lithuania. His major work was A Comparative Grammar of the Baltic languages ​​( 1966). He was the son of Norwegian lawyer, deputies and Justice Minister Fredrik Stang and Caroline Schweigaard ( daughter of the Minister of State Christian Homann Schweigaard ).
