Christian Tetzlaff

Christian Tetzlaff ( born April 24, 1966 in Hamburg ) is a German violinist.

He studied at the Musikhochschule Lübeck with Uwe -Martin Haiberg as well as in the United States at the College Conservatory of Music Cincinnati. His repertoire as a soloist includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach to Ligeti. Christian Tetzlaff has with almost all the major orchestras in Europe, such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Vienna Philharmonic and the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, worked. Since 1992 he has been a member of the Free Academy of the Arts in Hamburg.

Tetzlaff plays a violin by Stefan -Peter Greiner. With his sister, cellist Tanja Tetzlaff, he works from time to time together.

Come forward he is, inter alia, by his playing the violin works of Jean Sibelius.

Prizes and awards

Tetzlaff in 2000 was awarded the Brahms Prize of the resident in Heide Brahms Society Schleswig -Holstein.
