Christian Wilhelm Braune

Christian Wilhelm Braune ( born July 17, 1831 in Leipzig, † April 29, 1892 ) was a German anatomist. He was son of Ernst Heinrich Weber and doctor's son Albert Brown.

Brown was professor of topographic anatomy at the University of Leipzig. The Director of the Anatomical Institute, Wilhelm His, he had a good working relationship and lifelong friendship.

He delivered pioneering work in the field of biomechanics, where he worked in particular with the mathematician Otto Fischer. In 1888 he was elected a member of the Scholars Academy Leopoldina.
