Christianity in the United Arab Emirates

Christianity is in the United Arab Emirates, a Muslim country in the minority. There is no official recognition of Christian denominations. Islam is in the United Arab Emirates state religion. 1400 years after the Islamization of the region in the Persian Gulf, which led ( Convent of Sin Bani Yas ) and the end of the Christian remnant in the country, the Christians could soon become the majority. Due to the immigration of many foreign workers, especially from the Catholic Philippines, Christians already provide almost 40 per cent of those living in the UAE people.

The country has Protestant, Indian Orthodox, Coptic Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches. The schools in public ownership have no Christian religious instruction. There is no conversion allowed by Islam.

A lot of the Christians of the country is Catholic. Most Christians in the country are foreigners. Many of them are of Asian origin, while Arab Christians are present in much smaller numbers in the United Arab Emirates.
