Christophe Barratier

Christophe Barratier ( born June 17, 1963 in Paris, France ) is a French film producer, director and screenwriter.

Life

Christophe Barratier is the son of a French theater actor and actress Eva Simonet and filmmakers. As a child Barratier sang in a choir boy. Later he studied guitar at the Paris Conservatoire, but was not then a musician, but rose at a Galatée Films, the production company of his uncle Jacques Perrin. Here he served as co-producer among others, the award-winning documentary Winged Migration - The Secret of migratory birds and Les Enfants de la lumiére with. Director, he led the first time in 2002 with the short film Les tombales. In 2004, then followed his successful debut as a feature film director with the film Children of Monsieur Mathieu, who was among others nominated in 2005 for an Oscar as best foreign language film and eight million people are lured in France alone in the cinema.

Christophe Barratier has a daughter named Violet, who acted among others in a supporting role in The Les Choristes.
