Christopher Isengwe

Christopher Isengwe ( Christopher Isengwe Njunguda; born February 22, 1976) is a Tanzanian marathon runner.

In April 2004 Isengwe won the Belgrade Marathon. In October 2004, he was in 2:10:56 hours behind the Kenyans James Moiben second at the Beijing Marathon.

The greatest success of his career, he celebrated at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005, when he with a personal best time of 2:10:21 hours behind the defending champion Jaouad Gharib of Morocco won the silver medal. This was the first World Cup medal for Tanzania in the history of athletics.
