Christopher Malcolm

Christopher Malcolm ( born August 19, 1946 in Aberdeen, † February 15, 2014 in London) was a British actor and theater producer.

Life

Malcolm's family emigrated in the late 1940s to British Columbia, where he attended an after school visit the local university and studied drama. From 1966 to 1968, his first stop as an actor, the Royal Shakespeare Company, with whom he appeared in the UK. From the 1970s, the brawny actor commuted with the distinctive chin between stage, television and film. An important role was that of " Brad Majors " in the original production of The Rocky Horror Show. For the cinema he played small roles in several successful films such as Highlander - There can be only one, ragtime and Star Wars Episode V. From the mid- 1980s he reduced his performances significantly.

1978 Malcolm joined for the first time as a producer in appearance, as he was responsible for the musical Pal Joey, which two years later was also performed in the West End. In 1981 its production of Steaming the prize as best comedy. After further works had in 1990 a new production of The Rocky Horror Show at the Piccadilly Theatre premiere, which was played successfully for ten years and four national tours long. She was then performed on Broadway and won a Tony Award.

His last work was a new production of Oh! What a Lovely War in Stratford East.
