Christopher Williams (artist)

Christopher Williams ( born 1956 in Los Angeles ) is an American photographer and conceptual artist.

Life

Christopher Williams studied the late 1970s to the early 1980s at the California Institute of the Arts under the first generation of conceptual artists such as John Baldessari and Douglas Huebler. In 1981 he finished his studies with a Master of Fine Arts. His first exhibition was in 1982 held at the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2005 he exhibited together with Jeroen de Rijke and Willem de Rooij at the Secession (Vienna) and recorded the entire house.

Since 2008, Christopher Williams heads the photography class at the Dusseldorf Art Academy.
