Chrome Division
Chrome Division is a Norwegian heavy metal band. Stylistically, the music is strongly reminiscent of Motorhead and Monster Magnet. The best known member is the guitarist Stian Thoresen Tomt, the singer of Dimmu Borgir (under the pseudonym Shagrath ).
History
Already in 1999, Stian Thoresen Tomt the idea to start a band that was to make music beyond the dark metal of Dimmu Borgir. While he worked at Dimmu Borgir - album Spiritual Black Dimensions, he played together with Stian Arnesen of The Kovenant and Dimmu Borgir a two songs that were more in the Stoner -rock direction. Due to time constraints, the project was shelved.
2004 wanted to make a proper band together Thoresen. Stian Arnesen had no time and latched off. Thoresen sought and found other musicians for his band. The band got a record deal with Nuclear Blast. On 21 July 2006, the debut album Doomsday Rock'n'Roll appeared. Two years later the album " Booze, Broads and Beelzebub " followed ( liquor, women, and the devil ), which received generally good reviews.
In 2009, the band of singer Eddie Guz separated "due to lack of commitment to the band ." He is replaced by Athera, lead singer of the band Susperia. In 2012, bassist Björn "Burn" Luna and guitarist Ricky Black left the band and were replaced by bassist and guitarist Ogee " Damage" Karlsen.
