The authentics Gold Cuckoos ( Chrysococcyx ) constitute a genus of the subfamily Cuculinae in the family of cuckoos.

Features

The authentics Gold Cuckoos are small cuckoos that stand out above all by its green, brown or gold shiny plumage. Then refers composed also the name Chrysococcyx, which is composed of the Greek words for gold ( chrysos ) and Cuckoo ( kokyx ). All species of this genus are brood parasites and live in the Paläotropis and Australis.

System

The genus contains 13 species. The German name followed by Avibase. Due to genetic studies, the species that occur in the Oriental and the Australis, conducted by some authors as a separate genus under the name Chalcites. These include C. basalis, C. ruficollis, C. lucidus, C. meyerii, C. minutillus, C. poecilurus, C. crassirostris.
