Chuck Hornbostel

Charles Hornbostel (Charles Christian "Chuck" Hornbostel; born September 26, 1911 in Evansville, Indiana, † 13 January 1989 in New London, New Hampshire) was an American middle distance runner who specialized track was the 800 -meter distance.

At the Olympics, he was in 1932 in Los Angeles sixth and fifth place in Berlin in 1936.

Starting for the Indiana University, he was from 1932 to 1934 NCAA champion in the 800 m and 880 yards. 1934 and 1936 he was the U.S. indoor champion over 1,000 m.

On August 15, 1936, he was a member of two U.S. relay races, the first lined up a world record in the 4 x 880 - yard relay team and then in the 4-by- 1- mile relay in a meet against the United Kingdom.
