Chute (gravity)

As a loading chute chute and similar conveying and filling shall be designated in mechanical engineering. It is a special type of pipe for the directed transport of solids, especially solids, by gravity.

Alternative names are:

  • Slide
  • Schütte
  • Downpipe
  • Funnel
  • Gutter

A chute is usually made of several joined sheets. In order to prevent mechanical wear by the material or to slow down, the following fixtures are used:

  • Constructively forced brakes ( pad material )
  • Wear resistant plates
  • Plastic linings

Depending on the design chutes for example, be divided into

  • Hosenschurren (branch of the material stream )
  • Trap chutes (speed of the material flow is reduced or the transport temporarily suppressed )
  • Leitgossen ( belt conveyor ).
