Ciego de Ávila is a Cuban city in the center of the island. It is the capital of the province of Ciego de Ávila and has 147 745 inhabitants ( census 2012).

Main industries in the city include the wood and food processing. The Port of Ciego de Ávila is Jucaro, which is located on the Caribbean Sea in the south. Ciego de Ávila has an airport, the tourist destinations Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo served until 2002.
