Cierpice, Lower Silesian Voivodeship

Cierpice (until 1945 Türpitz ) is a village in the rural community Przeworno in powiat Strzelinski in southwestern Poland. From 1975 to 1998, the village belonged to the province Wałbrzych since the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. By 1932 Türpitz belonged to the district of Münsterberg, 1932-1945 to the district chasing.

Location

The village is located about 11 kilometers east of Przeworno ( Prieborn ), 15 kilometers southeast of Strzelin ( chasing ) and 52 kilometers south of Wroclaw ter.

History

The earliest recorded mention in the spelling Tyrpicz dated 30 November 1292nd Türpitz has probably get a church soon after the founding of the town in the late 13th century, at least it is already detectable in 1335. The Reformation was introduced early in Türpitz, since 1534 the place without interruption remained Protestant. Even at the time of the Counter-Reformation Türpitz could hold on evangelical confession unhindered. Formerly belonged to the parish which villages Algersdorf, Berzdorf and Pleßguth (all in a circle Münsterberg located ), as well as the good Wilme, circle chasing. About the design of an earlier building is not known, only that was already in the 15th century probably built in the late Gothic style massive church at the same place where the present church is located. From this medieval building, the perimeter walls are preserved to this day as the foundation of the present church in part; the present main portal as well as the flying buttresses at the sanctuary and nave are probably obtained from this previous building.
