Cieszków

Cieszków [ ʨɛʃkuf ] ( German Freyhan ) is a village and seat of the municipality in the north -east of the powiat Milicki, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland. It is located three kilometers southwest of the city Zduny.

History

Freyhan was founded in the 15th century. Since 1628 it formed a separate basic rule. It was carved out of the manorial Militsch and was until 1691 in the possession of those von Maltzan. Already in 1660 she received the rights of a minority caste domination. Subsequently, there were frequent changes of ownership, the last Count Pueckler. In 1695 the castle was built.

1825 lived 491 inhabitants, the municipality, in addition were going to the castle municipality with 535 inhabitants. 1841 Freyhan lost its city charter. Because of its wooded surroundings, it developed into a popular tourist destination.

Attractions
