Cilegon is a city ( Kota ) in the Province of Banten, Indonesia, with 338 027 inhabitants (2007 ) on an area of ​​175.51 km ². Cilegon is located on the northwestern tip of the island of Java, on the edge of the Sunda Strait. Cilegon is an industrial city, it is the center of industry in the western part of Banten. One of the largest industrial enterprises Cilegons is Krakatau Steel.

Cilegon is on the main road from Jakarta to Merak and is crossed by the railway route Jakarta- Merak.
